As part of a series of activities to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the U.S. Department of Labor has collected worker photos and stories that illustrate, through personal experiences, the importance of the ADA in increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Each profile paints a portrait of real people with disabilities at work in America’s businesses, large and small. They illustrate how the ADA has opened doors of opportunity, directly impacting people’s employment and life trajectories for the better. Click here to read the profiles.
And, at Hamilton County DD Services, we’re also collecting local stories about how the ADA has impacted the lives of people with disabilities during the past 25 years. Do you have a story you’d like to share? Know someone who does? Email your stories or ideas to Lisa Danford, firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’ll post the stories on our website throughout the rest of 2015.
