Local businesses learn about hiring people with disabilities

Kidd Business Lunch with Jim Dwyer
On April 19, Kidd Adult Center hosted the first of three lunches for local businesses. Several companies, as well as Evendale Mayor Richard Finan, stopped by to learn more about Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services, the people we serve, and the benefits of hiring someone with a disability. Following lunch, Jim Dwyer led a tour of Kidd for the mayor, his staff and Kim Hoyle of KDM Pop Solutions Group.

Local businesses have been touring Hamilton County DD Services’ adult centers to learn more about the benefits of hiring people with disabilities. These events are aimed at increasing awareness about customized employment and hiring people with disabilities.

Two business brunches have been held at Kidd and Franks adult centers so far. The final one is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 14 at Beckman Adult Center, 2600 Civic Center Drive. Businesses interested in attending can email Nathan Beck, HCDDS employment coordinator, or call 513-559-6852 to RSVP.
